MOVING LA VERBENA

Moving La Verbena is a production set in Madrid in 1894 and explores the musical genre of zarzuela, deeply connected to everyday life and Spanish popular culture. The work is based on La verbena de la Paloma by Tomás Bretón, and seeks to show how music transforms, mixes with other traditions and cultures, and evolves across generations. The project connects classical zarzuela with contemporary music, integrating themes from artists such as Jorge Drexler, Liniker, Cesária Évora, Nathy Peluso, Stromae and Bad Bunny, who address topics related to their environment, relationships, identities and conflicts.
