THE BOO RADLEYS

THE BOO RADLEYS are an English trio of alternative rock and shoegaze, recognized for their sonic evolution and ability to blend styles such as psychedelia, dub reggae, jazz, and harmonies influenced by the Beach Boys. Formed by Simon ‘Sice’ Rowbottom (voice, guitar, keyboards), Tim Brown (bass, guitar, keyboards, voice) and Rob Cieka (drums, voice), the group originated in Wallasey, in Wirral, and solidified their reputation with albums such as Ichabod and I (1990) and Everything’s alright forever (1992), reaching their peak with Giant steps (1993), which earned them the Album of the Year award from NME. Their song «Wake Up!» propelled them to number 1 in 1995 during the height of Britpop. The new album, In spite of everything, was born after the tragic loss of Tim’s eldest son and addresses themes such as loss, introspection, and reflection on life decisions, maintaining an unstoppable energy.
