NIXON IN CHINA

Nixon in China is a theatrical production premiered at the Reina Sofía Palace of Arts in Valencia as part of the Les Arts season. The production, directed by Valentina Carrasco, explores the political and personal tensions of Nixon-Kissinger's visit to China in the 1970s through a surrealistic and visually striking mise-en-scène. It combines political spectacle, personal tension, and cultural exchange into a rich atmospheric experience, using symbolic elements such as tables to represent the Cold War and opposing visions of the world. The production is part of a broader season of operatic and dramatic works, with an emphasis on the interaction between music and dramaturgy.
