VASILY PETRENKO

Vasily Petrenko presents a classical music concert at the Reina Sofía Palace of Arts in Valencia, featuring the work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K. 550, and that of Richard Strauss, Don Quixote, Op. 35. The program highlights Petrenko's collaboration with top European ensembles, including the Berlin Philharmonic and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, as well as his role as principal conductor of the Royal Philharmonic. The concert explores a journey from the balanced classical style of Mozart to the dense orchestration and thematic use of Strauss, with the cello assuming the role of protagonist in the Don Quixote suite. The event also features the cellist Pablo Ferrández, who previously enjoyed great success with Elgar's Cello Concerto.
