Subtónica

Subtónica is a musical project led by Javier Estévez, a Cordoba-based musician who was one of the fundamental engines of Estirpe for almost two decades. The name of the project is inspired by the musical concept of Subtónica, which refers to the degree that is found below the tonic, symbolizing an approach to underground music that avoids the usual. In March 2026, they release their fifth album, «Salvarnos», a ten-track LP presented in vinyl format. The album's proposal addresses a socially profound philosophical background, with songs that depict daily suffocation, global disorder, and the climate emergency. The disc is based on an angular guitar sound and a heavy rhythmic base, produced by Pachi García Alis.
