Cantando bajo las balas

Cantando bajo las balas is a work by Antonio Álamo, directed by Asier Andueza, featuring the outstanding performance of Ane Gabarain, winner of a Goya and nominated for an Emmy International. The piece is a satire on General Millán Astray, founder of the Spanish Legion, and deals with his history as a selfless man who fights for the homeland against separatists and intellectuals who want to break Spain. The work combines elements of drama and humor, showing the martyr's dedication of the protagonist through gunshots, war wounds and mutilations. The performance includes scenes that address the confrontation between the old rector and Millán Astray in the university's hall of the University of Salamanca on October 12th, 1936.
