CHAMELEONS

The Chameleons is a post-punk group formed in Middleton, near Manchester (England) in 1981. In the United States they are more commonly known by the name The Chameleons UK. Their career developed in two phases: the first, more creative, in which they released their three most significant studio albums, and a second more oriented towards performing for their audience while consolidating their style and reworking unreleased material. Always entangled in endless conflicts with successive record companies, which they claim threatened the independence of their creations, the contribution of The Chameleons lies more in the influence of their music than in their popularity. Their songs stand out, above all, for the originality of their lyrics, the dreamlike atmosphere of their compositions, and the acoustic personality of their two guitarists.
